- Harmonics are components of electrical
waveform other than fundamental sinusoidal wave, which are generated
by flow of random and discontinuous current like UPS, Air-conditioner
and Lift at buildings. There are types of affected equipment in
industrial machines and home appliances.
- Active filter can eliminate all types of harmonics and contamination
in the power supply. Distorted
load side current is compensated from 2nd to 25th orders of harmonic.
There is no resonance with distribution system and can result
in the following:
- Harmonic cancellation
- Power factor improvement
- Phase imbalance compensation
- Voltage stabilization
Active filter is a convenient and effective method. It can be
flexible to modify by unit compensation or group compensation.
